Unibot maintains first-mover status among Telegram crypto trading bots

Image
Unibot price could be over-extended, but notable user base growth and real yields paid to token holders are a reflection of the project’s strong fundamentals. Unibot (UNIBOT) token was among the top crypto gainers in July as its price rallied by 400% in a month to reach an all-time high of $199.90 on July 28. The project defied the market’s negative trend as both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) dropped by nearly 4%. However, by August 3, 2023, the token's price retraced 44% from its peak, leading to doubts about whether this surge was merely a fleeting trend. Nevertheless, it is essential to consider the project's fundamentals, which seem to suggest otherwise. The project is a harbinger of a newfound bullish narrative around decentralized Telegram bots for trading on DEXs. The total market capitalization of the sector surged above $150 million from around $20 million at the start of July, per Coingecko. While a number of copycats have launched in the market, Unibot has a dom...

Bitcoin is at the pivotal 50-day SMA support and a drop below this level could result in accelerated selling in BTC and altcoins. Bitcoin (BTC) plunged to $29,000 on July 24, signaling that bears are trying to seize control. It looks like the failure to hold on to the higher levels may have tempted short-term bulls to book profits and aggressive bears to initiate short positions. Although the near term looks bearish, long-term investors remain unfazed and they continue to hold on to their positions. Glassnode data shows that Bitcoin’s Long-Term Holder Supply made a new high of 14.52 million Bitcoin, “equivalent to 75% of the circulating supply.” Daily cryptocurrency market performance. TON blockchain launches on-chain encrypted messaging feature

The network previously allowed users to post on-chain messages but only in an unencrypted, completely public way. The Open Network (TON) has released an on-chain encrypted messaging feature, according to a July 3 announcement from the network’s developer, TON Foundation. The new feature allows for private messages to be sent between TON users.  TON Foundation Introduces Encrypted Transaction Messageshttps://t.co/HXKtk0gxKC pic.twitter.com/0z1z4E5ku1 — TON (@ton_blockchain) July 3, 2023 TON is a blockchain network forked from code created by the Telegram instant messaging app team. Telegram abandoned the project in July 2020, before a mainnet was ever launched. However, it open-sourced TON’s code before leaving, allowing others to continue building upon the work it had done. The current network, called “TON,” was built by the TON Foundation. The foundation claims that the network provides greater scalability and transaction throughput than other options in the Web3 ecosystem while...

Market observers will closely watch the United States CPI data and the Fed’s policy decision to provide direction to the stock and crypto markets. After the tough sell-off seen in the past week, the cryptocurrency markets will be looking for some support from the macroeconomic data this week. The all-important United States Consumer Price Index report on June 13 will be followed up by the Federal Reserve’s policy decision on June 14.  Both these events could trigger a sharp response from equities and crypto traders. While a knee-jerk reaction is expected, it will be interesting to note if there is any follow-up to it. Traders may remain cautious as market volatility is likely to pick up over the next few days. SEC, CPI and a 'strong rebound': 5 things to know in Bitcoin this week

Image
Bitcoin faces a week full of potential price triggers — both up and down — as BTC price action drops below a major trend line. Bitcoin (BTC) starts a “massive” week in a precarious position as key support stays out of reach for bulls. After fresh losses across crypto markets over the weekend, BTC/USD closed the week below $26,000 for the first time in three months. Both Bitcoin and altcoins continue to struggle thanks to legal battles raging in the United States and their impact on sentiment. Fragile markets will now encounter a slew of volatility triggers, however, as U.S. macro data releases accompany the next steps in the crypto legal debacle. In what promises to be five days full of surprises, traders will likely experience none of the lackluster sideways price action which was characteristic of crypto markets before the U.S. upheaval. How will the coming week shape up? Cointelegraph takes a look at the major things to consider when it comes to Bitcoin and wider crypto market pri...

Jack Dorsey courts controversy by claiming ETH is a security

Since Binance and Coinbase were sued for offering unregistered securities, Dorsey has tweeted posts promoting a focus on Bitcoin development. Long-time Bitcoin (BTC) advocate Jack Dorsey has found himself in a Twitter war with several crypto industry pundits after he responded with “yes” to a question asking if Ether (ETH) was a security . The comment caught the attention of Udi Wertheimer, a Bitcoin Ordinals developer at Taproot Wizards, who inferred Dorsey was a “clown” in a tweet on June 6. In response, Dorsey tweeted “ETH is not a security ? Teach me wizard,” which prompted Wertheimer to share a five-year-old video of the United States Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) chair Gary Gensler stating that ETH was now “sufficiently decentralized” and wasn’t a security . clowns. pic.twitter.com/S8AiJwuMem — Udi Wertheimer (@udiWertheimer) June 6, 2023 However, Gabor Gurbacs, strategy advisor to stablecoin issuer Tether and investment management firm VanEck weighed in on Werthei...

Tornado Cash attacker to potentially giveback governance control, proposal reveals

Image
A few hours into the hack, to everyone’s surprise, the attacker surprisingly reached out to the Tornado Cash community with a new proposal, hinting at their intent to give back the governance control. Just a day after an attacker sparked community-wide panic after hijacking the Tornado Cash governance , a new proposal hints at the possible restoration of the state of governance . On May 21, the passing of a malicious proposal allowed an attacker to gain complete control over Tornado Cash’s governance. With total control over the governance of the decentralized crypto mixer, the attacker was in a position to inflict massive losses considering they could withdraw all of the locked votes, drain all of the tokens in the governance contract and brick the router. While the story unfolded, community member Tornadosaurus-Hex or Mr. Tornadosaurus Hex, took proactive steps to minimize the potential damages by publishing a subsequent proposal requesting all members to withdraw all funds loc...

Crypto retail trading should be regulated as gambling: UK lawmakers

Image
The volatility and purported lack of intrinsic value of most crypto assets make it particularly risky for consumers, the politicians claimed. The trading of so-called “unbacked cryptoassets” such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) should be regulated as gambling rather than a financial service, a panel of British lawmakers said in a new report.  The United Kingdom is currently working on a crypto regulatory framework that would mix existing financial asset laws with new crypto-specific rules. However, in a May 17 House of Commons Committee report, the U.K. Treasury Committee “strongly recommended” regulating retail crypto trading and investment activity as gambling, consistent with the principle of “same risk, same regulatory outcome.” Published today We’ve just published our report on cryptoassets, setting out our recommendations for the Government’s approach to regulating this market. Pepe vs. Doge: How memecoins performed first time hitting $1B market cap

Image
In a recent Cointelegraph Twitter poll, DOGE was voted as the memecoin that will have the largest market capitalization by 2025, with PEPE coming in second place. Memes, internet jokes, and popular culture references have become an integral part of online communities. Because of this, cryptocurrencies inevitably gave birth to a new wave of assets called "memecoins." While some argue that these coins are just a fad, others might also believe in their potential to bring financial gain to their investors.  One of the most popular meme coins that was recently launched is a frog-themed token called PEPE. The token has gained traction amid the bear market and garnered a lot of support from various members of the community despite its official website saying “the coin is completely useless and for entertainment purposes only.” According to its creators, PEPE is on a mission to “make memecoins great again” a play on former United States president Donald Trump’s political slogan, ...

Scaramucci to invest in crypto firm founded by former FTX US boss

It is understood the crypto software company will enable crypto traders to create algorithmic-based strategies to access different markets. SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci is investing in a crypto company founded by the former president of FTX US. According to an email to Bloomberg, Scaramucci said he would be investing his own personal funds to support ex-FTX US president Brett Harrison’s new venture, which became known just three weeks after the collapse of crypto exchange FTX. It is understood that the crypto Software company — which doesn’t yet have a name — will enable crypto traders to create algorithmic-based strategies to access different markets — both centralized and decentralized. It is also understood that Harrison has been seeking a fundraising target as high as $10 million for a $100 million valuation. In a Jan. 14 tweet responding to Harrison's lengthy thread on Sam Bankman-Fried and his time at FTX U, Scaramucci said he was “proud” to be an investor ...
